Bonnie Gibson is an Arizona-based carving artist and recognized innovator in the use of hard-shelled gourds as a fine-art medium. She enjoys manipulating gourds and pushing the medium to its limits, inviting the viewer to interpret them as something more while retaining their natural essence. She is a well-respected instructor, teaching gourd-carving classes and workshops from coast to coast. In addition, she has authored 40 tutorials, which were donated to the American Gourd Society. Her book Gourds: Southwestern Techniques and Projects was first published in 2006 and is in its third edition as Gourds with Southwestern Motifs. Bonnie’s work is available through the Red Door Gallery in Tubac, Arizona. Her website, bonnie
